We Don't Want An Extra Piece. This Isn't A Cake!

Day 16/21

Let me break this bubble of yours at the very outset

I ain't talking about the cake.

And even if I am,

How does wanting bits only and not a giant piece work?

It's about what you've been going through everyday.

It's hard to breathe.

It's as if everything is slipping from the hand like the beach sand.

It's as if everything is receding, everything that once cheered you up.

This isn't even withdrawal!

This is something inexplicable!

It just lingers in the air.

Of course, this feeling is contagious.

I am transferring that to you if you have made the sweet mistake of reading so far.

And I am sure, you'll transfer this to whoever you talk to about this.

It's strange how we are all eagerly waiting for this ordeal to get over

and get back to our normal lives.

Laughing, dancing, eating ice cream

Everybody wants to be done with this.

Every gym freak wants to rush to their second favorite place in the world (probably, the first now after being stranded at home for too long),

and get the grind started with the hashtag

But who had the imagined that the fittest place in the world would suddenly become the most detrimental hub,

detesting any sort of assemblage.Getting disillusioned?

Nobody, nobody wants this to extend.

Our system just cannot take that.

It's like we are forcing it down our throats

and we're throwing it up again and again.

Yes, we are vomiting all over it.

One day gone is like one day passed

Productivity, creativity, being fruitful, etc. goes in vain once the sun is no more visible in the sky.

With cake, you will still make an effort to make some space for the extra piece.

But here, you wouldn't want it!

Not even for a moment.

You have quarantined yourself so nicely.

Great job!But the rational side has something else to say...

It's worse out there!

Being indoors is a privilege which it is, certainly!

You wouldn't want to step out of the house with an enormous load on your head after all.

It's strange how the life before the outbreak seems like a thing of the past now,

something which you only look back to

and long for just like your childhood.

It's baffling how you have the money in the world

But can't do anything with that!

Because there's no going out of the house.

Someone has said it right,

"We are all in this together."

Even a tad-bit of extension would break us,

It will require a copious amount of energy to rebuild that mindset again.

So stay indoors if you really want to go out.
